What is news?
- Anything you would be happy to read about another congregation doing.
- Advance notice: Events treaders of The Inquirer may be happy to travel to. (e.g. anniversaries in the hundreds, concerts with well-known performers.)
- Personnel changes (e.g. induction of a minister.)
- Remember that virtually all the congregations have concerts, Christmas fairs, etc. Those may not be news, unless something special occurred. The best way to cover those events is with a clear, smiley photograph and a caption.
Post-event coverage
- Tell us how many people attended
- Tell us why it was interesting
- Quote from the presentation or from someone who was there
- Every congregation has lovely teas, fantastic cakes and a nice selection of biscuits.
